ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to introduce an online/e-auction module for non-customs paid vehicles.
Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a follow-up meeting on Thursday of the high-level committee on tampered and confiscated vehicles.
The FBR gave a detailed presentation on the proposed online/e-auction module for non-customs paid vehicles, aimed at ensuring greater transparency, efficiency, and fairness in the disposal process.

The DPM/FM reiterated the government’s resolve to adopt technology-driven solutions that enhance transparency and conserve valuable public resources.
The FBR will also issue a new Customs General Order (CGO) for the disposal of tampered and confiscated vehicles.
In this regard, the FBR has reviewed existing laws and policies regarding tampered and confiscated vehicles.
A sub-committee was tasked with devising a comprehensive mechanism for their disposal. After detailed deliberations, the sub-committee unanimously finalized a Customs General Order (CGO), which was subsequently approved by the DPM.
The DPM/FM stressed the importance of this decision to streamline the disposal process of confiscated and tampered vehicles and to ensure greater transparency, enhance efficiency, and ensure optimal revenue generation from the auction of confiscated vehicles.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Law & Justice, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Chairman FBR, and Secretary Ministry of Information.
