Middle schools reopen in Pakistan

  • Sindh has decided to resume secondary classes on September 28.
Published September 23, 2020

In the second phase, middle schools reopened on Wednesday in Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Sindh has decided to reopen on September 28.

On Tuesday, after reviewing the coronavirus situation in the country, the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) allowed the resumption of secondary classes from today.

Where Punjab, Balochistan and KP announced that it would reopen schools for students of 6 to 8 as per the government's decision, Sindh said it would reopen next week.

In a presser, the provincial Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that the decision not to resume classes was made as negligence was seen in the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said that the government will review the coronavirus situation in the country next week and then decide whether to reopen primary and nursery sections.
