KARACHI: On Monday, Pakistan Rupee went up against most currencies. It gained value against USD in both interbank and open markets while losing value against Euro in open market.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee had gained 35 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over last Friday's rates closing at 166.85 and 166.95 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR had gained 60 paisas for buying and 70 paisas for selling against USD over last Friday's rates closing at 166.70 and 167 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR had lost one rupee for buying and 50 paisas for selling over last Friday's rates closing at 193 and 194 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR had gained10 paisas for buying and 15 paisas for selling closing at 45 and 45.15 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR had gained 5 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling closing at 43.85 and 44.10 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee recovered its earlier losses versus the greenback in the local currency market on Monday.

Following lack of buyers' interest in the market, the greenback remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session and ended lower for buying and selling at Rs 167.00 and Rs 168.20 against the Friday's closing rates of Rs 167.60 and Rs 168.60 respectively, local currency dealers said.

On the other hand, the rupee witnessed a historic decline in the process of trading against the pound sterling. As a result, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from the previous closing of Rs 210.50 and Rs 212.00 to Rs 211.50 and Rs 213.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee gained 50 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs167.50(buying) and Rs 167.60( selling) against last rate of Rs168(buying) and Rs 168.10( selling).

It closed at Rs167.50(buying) and Rs 167.60( selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 116,500(selling) and Rs 116,000(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
