Cooperation between Turkey, Punjab in various sectors: pace of progress on agreements reviewed

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the agreements signed between Punjab and Turkey for co-operation in various sectors will be given a practical shape expeditiously He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday, which reviewed the pace of progress on the agreements signed between Punjab government and Turkey for co-operation in energy, transport, solid waste management, construction and other sectors.
Provincial Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor and Members Provincial Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad, Hafiz Mian Nauman, Chairman Planning and Development, secretaries of various departments, Commissioner and District Co-ordination Officer Lahore and officers concerned were present, disclosed an official.
Addressing the meeting, the CM said joint ventures in energy, transport, solid waste management, construction, mining and other sectors will be completed in a transparent manner. While issuing instructions for formation of a committee comprising provincial ministers, assembly members and government officers for the speedy implementation of these projects, he said that the committee will meet on weekly basis to review the pace of progress while he will preside over a meeting for this purpose on monthly basis.
Secretaries of various departments and Commissioner Lahore Division informed the meeting about their visit to Turkey and the pace of progress on the joint ventures between Turkey and Punjab. The participants of the meeting also gave their proposals regarding these projects. The meeting also reviewed the projects of southern loop of Lahore Ring Road and Bus Rapid Transit System.
