Sindh police on Tuesday claimed to have killed an alleged bandit and arrested his other accomplice after brief encounter in the limits of Aziz Bhatti police station. According to police, the encounter took place near Bait-ul-Mukarram Mosque, University Road where police patrolling party faced armed resistance when they tried to intercept pillion riders.
Retaliating on the said act, one of them received fatal bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries on the spot while other accomplice was arrested. SHO Kansan Dean said the accused persons were involved in severe robbery cases and used to target persons, who withdrew cash from banks. He said the deceased was identified as Nisar son of Kareem while his accomplice was known as Ejaz. No case was registered till filing of this report.
