Re-polling in LA-16: AJK Supreme Court declares HC's order null and void
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court on Friday declared null and void, the recent order of AJK High Court directing to hold re-polling in five more polling stations of LA-16 (Bagh-4 Haveili) of AJK Legislative Assembly.
The full bench of AJK Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, on an appeal filed against AJK HC order, by Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, candidate of PPP in the constituency of LA-16, Bagh-4 Haveili, declared null and void the July 1st, 2011 verdict of AJK High Court about holding of re-polling in five more polling stations.
The supreme court, however, kept intact the recent schedule announced by AJK Election Commission about holding of re-polling in eight polling stations of the same constituency LA-16 (Bagh-4 Haveili) on July 20. It is pertinent to mention here that AJK High Court, had, on a writ petition filed by Muslim Conference's candidate Muhammad Aziz Chaudhry contesting AJK Legislative Assembly in the same constituency, had ordered holding re-polling in the constituency.
