Former Foreign Minister and Farmers Association of Pakistan Chairman, Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that food scarcity is a major issue being faced by the country and urged the government to increase agriculture productivity. He was addressing a seminar on "Proposed Increase in Gas Price & GST on Fertiliser Industry - Impact on Agriculture Production & Farmer's Productivity" held at a local hotel on Friday.
He said the economic growth rate was only 6 to 7 percent, which was decreasing rapidly. "Fair use of national resources is the responsibility of the government and speeches and seminars cannot change policies," he added.
