Champions Trophy hero Zaman ruled over internet in 2017

Pakistan opening batsman Fakhar Zaman was the most searched cricketer by the desi fans in 2017.

As per the Google’s Year in Search 2017, Fakhar Zaman was placed third on the list of the most searched people in Pakistan and was also the only cricketer on the top 10 lists.

Zaman, who made his debut against South Africa at the ICC Champions Trophy, emerged as one of the biggest names at the event, owing to his impressive showing. Meanwhile, most probably for his blistering century against arch rivals India at the final of the tournament.

Other than Zaman, the owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi also made the top 10 list. He was the seventh most searched personality, linked to cricket on the list.

Afridi won the hearts of Pakistanis, when he announced that all the foreign players of his Zalmi team will participate in the PSL final at Lahore.

Meanwhile, unsurprisingly, the ICC Champions Trophy was the most searched event in Pakistan in 2017. After all, Pakistan went on to win the title for the first time in their cricketing history.
