Security has been put on high alert in Islamabad and other parts of the country in wake of any possible backlash from Tehrik Taliban Pakistan and al Qaeda following the killing of Osama bin Laden, security officials said. Pakistan Army and Rangers were deployed in Federal Capital to support police and other law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order in the city.
Army and Rangers will guard Red Zone wherein Diplomatic Enclave, Constitution Avenue, Parliament, Presidency, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Prime Minister's House and Secretariat, Secretariat blocks, Ministerial and Judges Enclave are located, they said.
They said that besides Islamabad, other parts of the country were put under heavy security arrangements following the killing of Osama bin Laden in a military operation in Abbottabad on Sunday night. Meanwhile, the foreign missions in Islamabad have issued advisories to their employees and their citizens in Pakistan to be cautious about anti-American violence in Pakistan in the aftermath of bin Laden's death.
There are possibilities of a backlash after the killing of bin Laden, security officials said. Law enforcement agencies have traced the owner of the white colour Potohar jeep bearing registration No, RIA-07-3872 model 2007. It was owned by Noor Mohammad son of Noor Hussain of Rawalpindi, official sources said. The Potohar vehicle was found in the compound in which bin Laden was killed.
