KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active during last 24 hours at the Port where two ships carrying chemical, and edible oil were allocated berths at Engro Vopak Terminal and liquid cargo Terminal respectively on 12 December.
Meanwhile six more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, chemical, diesel oil and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 50 percent at the Port on Tuesday where total number of six ships namely MV. Fisher-K,Ionian Sea, MV Golden Ambrosia, Al Buhaira, Enrico Ievoli and SC Dalian are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, rice, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 37,552 tonnes, comprising 28723 tonnes import and 8,829 tonnes exports was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
One Furnace oil vessel MV, Al Buhaira sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while MV. Enrico Ievoli of chemical, MV. SC Dalian of edible oil and Deke Rickmers of containers are expected to sail later on same day.
