Two robbers staged an armed raid on Friday at the European Parliament post office in Brussels - just hundreds of metres from a summit gathering Europe's top leaders at a summit. "Early this afternoon, there was a hold-up at the European parliament's post office by two people who managed to escape the premises," a spokesman for the legislature told AFP.

-- Police and prosecutors could not be contacted immediately. A group of British Conservative MEPs said on Twitter it was "the third time in two years" the parliament had been hit in this way, labelling its security "farcical."
