The PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Thursday said his party would keep playing its role in the progress and prosperity of the people at large and it would emerge as the single largest party of the country in the next elections.
"The PML is playing its due role as the only opposition party in the center as well as in the provinces. We don't need to go to anyone as now due to our growing popularity amongst the masses, the politicians would have to come to us due to the party's mainstream role. The party's win in Shangla's by-elections is a stamp on this hard truth," Shujaat told a huge gathering of the party workers at a function held here at the PML House to honour the party's president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Muqam and his associates.
Party's secretary general Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain MNA, Secretary Finance Imtyaz Ranjha, Women's Wing President Mrs Farrukh Khan, former minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Deputy Secretary Information Ghulam Mustafa Malik, Senator (Retd) Razina Alam Khan and many others were also present on the occasion. The newly elected MPA from Shangla Rasahd Mohammad Khan was also attended the ceremony.
Expressing gratitude to the Almighty Allah for the success of his party candidate in the by-election, Shujaat said then people had rejected joint candidates of PPP and ANP, PML-N and JUI-F, and other parties and polled their votes to an MPA of an opposition party. "PML is the only opposition of the country and we will keep playing our role by defending the rights of the people. The party's provincial leader Amir Muqam and his associates are also praiseworthy who worked days and night for the party's cause," he added.
Mushahid Hussain Sayed said the PML was a pro-democracy party and the by-polls results had stamped its popularity amongst the masses. He said the party would keep playing its role in the leadership of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. He said the party workers were active and different committees had been formed to redress the grievances of the party workers.-PR
