Shipping activity at Port Qasim

 KARACHI: Shipping activity remained brisk at Port Qasim where two ships carrying palm oil and chemicals were allotted berths at Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday, November 21.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 46 percent on Monday where a total of six ships namely M.V Safina-2, M.V Fonthida Naree, M.V Ikan Tambak, M.T Iron Kalypso, M.T Angel No.II and M.T Norgas Sonoma are currently occupying berths to load/offload rice, canola, seeds, sunflower seeds, palm oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.

A Cargo volume of 15,973 tonnes imports exclusive, comprising 12,435 tonnes Dry Cargo and 3,538 tonnes liquid cargo handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Chemicals carrier Norgas Sonoma is expected to sail out on Tuesday afternoon.

Two container ships Sea Land Washington and Al-Exander are expected to take berths at Container Terminal on Tuesday, November 22. Containers ship Najran and oil tanker Al-Soor-II are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day while oil tanker Fai Spirit and container Vessels CMA CGM Verdi and Nicolai Maersk are due to arrive on Wednesday, November 23.
