The federal government has decided to provide all modern equipment and facilities to the Airport Security Force (ASF) to match international standards for ensuring fool-proof security at airports.
Keeping in view the worsening security situation around the globe, the ASF has been given task of making fool-proof security arrangements at all airports, said an ASF official here on Wednesday.
Besides keeping a vigil on people coming to airport, special measures have also been adopted to improve the security in car-parking and other areas at airports, he said adding the screening and security checks are being made more efficient and every person would undergo the screening and security check without any discrimination.
The ASF official said that a proposal has been in advance stage to bring salaries and fringe benefits of the ASF staff at par with Motorway and Islamabad police, and accommodation facilities would also be provided to the ASF staff. Currently, the salaries and other facilities of the ASF officials are almost half the matching organisations. Such a situation develops a sense of inferiority among the staffers and it would be ratified, he said.
