Lawyers' daylong strike today

The lawyers' community as usual observed token strike in protest against the suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry here on Wednesday.
The lawyers did not appear before the court for one hour. Office-bearers of lawyers' bodies including senior lawyers sat in the camps. Political party leaders and workers also joined the camps and expressed solidarity with the lawyers in their struggle for the revival of Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The lawyers action committee had decided to observe a one-day strike on each Thursday and token strike on daily basis. The lawyers, therefore, will observe a full-day strike today and will take out a protest rally at the Mall Road.
