KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed higher on Monday having 48518.97 points with a negative change of 489.03 and volume of 94,997,960 shares.

High and Low were 49081.28 and 48489.74 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 250,993,900 shares with 383 total traded companies out of which 73 were up 301 were down and 9 were unchanged.

ENGINEERING was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 37,495,700 shares. It was followed by COMMERCIAL BANKS with a total traded volume of 34,905,800 shares.

The three top traded companies were Lotte Chemical with a volume of 18,585,000 and price per share of 10.54 (0.50), Engro Polymer with a volume 3,639,500 of price per share of 24.00 (0.51), Dewan Motors with a volume 3,551,500 of price per share of 32.38 (1.54).

The top three advancers were Pak Tobacco with price per share 1235.71 (58.84), Khyber Tobacco with price per share of 992.35 (47.25) and Ghandhara Ind. share of 901.38 (42.92).

The top three decliners were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share of 3766.88 (198.25), Indus Motor Co with price per share of 1596.00 (83.17) and Sanofi-Aventis share of 2350.00 (54.11).
