BAHAWALPUR: Governor Punjab Malik Rafique Rajwana has said that government has taken tremendous steps for promotion of quality education in the country.
Educational budget has been doubled and special attention was being paid towards higher education sector by improving standards in teaching and research.
According to the Spokesman of Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) Shahzad Ahmad, the Governor expressed these views during a meeting with Vice Chancellor (VC) Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq and in a seminar organized by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan.
On this occasion, the VC said that the university has shown extra ordinary improvement in the Higher Education Commission (HEC) ranking by jumping from 51st to 11th position in a short period of one year due to administrative, academic and fiscal reforms.
Mega construction projects of Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Agricultural College and Sports Complex delayed since many years have been completed, he added.
The VC apprised the Chancellor that Study Park and Day Care Center which were inaugurated by him have been completed and were fully functional.
