imageISLAMABAD: MAPLE Leaf Power Company (MLPL) has submitted an application to National Electric Power Regulator Authority (NEPRA) for power generation license for its 40 MW coal based thermal power plant.

Sources told APP here that the company would setup coal based power plant in Minawali to generate 40 MW electricity.

Important coal would be utilized to run the plant.

The project would cost Rs.5.5 billion and its expected commercial operation date is December 2017.

The plant would generate 35.6MW net electricity as the plant has 4.4MW auxiliary consumption.

MLPL intends to supply power generated from the plant to its sister concern Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (MLCFL).
