imageAs England, Pakistan, India and West Indies are currently playing Test cricket, there is major shake-up on the cards on top of the ICC Test ranking table, depending how these two series will turn out, and the small difference in points between these teams throws up a number of interesting scenarios.

A win for Pakistan in the series, by a 2-1 or 3-1 margin, will help it pull down India into second position, a place where Pakistan has reached only once since the officials’ rankings were launched in 2003, according to a local media report.

Relatively, the second-ranked India will have to beat the West Indies by a margin of 3-0 or better to stay at 112 points and to not lose crucial points in the ICC team rankings.

Similarly, the top-ranked Australia will have to win 2-0 or better against Sri Lanka to ensure they don’t go below the current 118 points and to retain first spot in ICC test ranking.

Pakistan even has an opportunity to knock out Australia from the top position and surge to the top of the ICC test rankings, but to make this happen it will have to win 3-0 or better, according to the International Cricket Council.

Hence it is confirmed that in the coming weeks there is a possibility of plenty of movement in the ICC test rankings table at the end of England vs Pakistan and India vs West Indies series.
