HYDERABAD: In a massive operation for the recovery of outstanding dues and detection of illegal connections, the special recovery teams of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company Monday conducted surprise raids in different areas of Operation Circle-I Hyderabad.
During the operation, the recovery teams disconnected 1250 connections for non-payment of outstanding dues and also recovered over Rs. 1.5 million as outstanding arrears from the defaulters.
The teams also removed 1040 illegal (Kunda) connections from different parts of Hyderabad and submitted letters with respective police stations for registration of FIR against power thieves under new amended laws.
The recovery teams also carried out surprise raids in different parts of Nawabshah, Sakrand, Daur, Qazi Ahmed, Saeedabad, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas and Umerkot yesterday and disconnected 220 connections with recovery of Rs. 2.5 million as outstanding dues.
