TORONTO: Toronto's main stock market index rallied to its highest close in more than a week on Monday, driven by bargain-hunting, optimism over the euro zone debt crisis and acquisition activity on both sides of the border.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index unofficially ended up 141.41 points, or 1.13 percent, at 12,683.61.
