KP obligation to provide representation FATA: Afrasiyab
ISLAMABAD: Provincial Head Awami National Party (ANP) senator Afrasiyab Khattak welcomed extension of Political Party Act to FATA and said that representation should be given to FATA in provincial assembly.
Talking to a private news channel on Sunday, he said that govt supports the unity in Pakhtuns adding that FATA should be merged in KP gradually according to the wish of the tribesmen as we have common culture, traditions and history.
He added, "The residents of FATA are also living in KP and we are brothers and there are no differences between us as well, as tribal people have two homes one in FATA and other in KP".
He added it is worth mentioning that FATA had representation in provincial assembly of one unit however, they have no representation in KP.
Afrasiyab said FATA representation in provincial assembly will bring development in the area even.
"We will hold dialogue with FATA MNAs.
We are respecting tribal people's wishes and demands and we are not imposing any decision on the people of FATA", he added.
