Petroleum Ministry denies news report of five days CNG closure

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources categorically denied a report published in a newspaper about five days CNG closure.

A daily newspaper published a report by quoting the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources as saying that government might be forced to stop gas supplies to the CNG sector for at least five days a week under conservative estimates and for complete closure under worst scenario.

Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources categorically denied the above reporting which was nothing but speculations and baseless aspersions.

It is clarified that during the meeting of special ministerial committee on load shedding, held on 09/08/2011, gas load management issues neither came under discussions nor the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources made any statement in this regard. In fact, the committee has been constituted for electricity load shedding issues and not on the gas load management, said a press release issued here.
