Vietnam January-February crude oil exports raise 37pc

HANOI: Vietnam's crude oil exports in the first two months of this year rose an estimated 37.2 percent from 2014 to 1.6 million tonnes, or 200,000 barrels per day (bpd), the government said on Thursday.

Crude oil export value in the period, however, plummeted 40.9 percent from a year ago to $604 million, reflecting global price drops, the General Statistics Office said.

Oil product imports during January-February fell 7.6 percent from the corresponding period last year to an estimated 1.3 million tonnes, with value dropping 52.2 percent to $621 million, the office said in its monthly report.

Vietnam also imported an estimated 137,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas during the period, a surge of 107.4 percent from the same period in 2014, the office said.
