KARACHI: Two ships C.V MSC Eugenia and M.T Atlantic Glory carrying containers and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively at Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Meanwhile four more ships with containers and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same period.
Berth occupancy was managed at the port at forty three percent on Sunday, where six ships namely ships C.V MSC Eugenia, C.V MSC Albany, M.V Alam Madu, M.V Minoan Grace, M.T Ann Kjerstz and M.T Atlantic Glory are currently occupying berths to load/offlaod containers, cement, sunflower seeds, fertilizer and chemical respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours. stood at 55, 26 tonnes, comprises 31,177 tonnes imports and 24,092 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,926 containers (TEUs) (658 imports and 1,268 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port.
Three ships, chemicals carrier ' Atlantic Glory' and container ships 'MSC Eugenica and 'MSC Albany' sailed out to sea on monday morning while another containers ships 'Pona' is expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Five ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Pona, C.V MSC Niena, M.T Feng Hai-35 and M.T AL-Soor-II carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Monday, while containers ship 'MSC Vienna' is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day and three more ships 'C.V Al-Abadli, C.V CMA CGM Debussy and M.T Dashma are due to arrive Tuesday.
