imageISLAMABAD: The employees of Foreign Office on Wednesday paid homage to their colleague late ambassador Seema Naqvi who was serving in the ministry as Special Secretary and passed away on December 15.

A condolence meeting was held here Wednesday to pay homage to late ambassador Seema Naqvi.

Addressing the condolence meeting Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi remembered the late ambassador as a dedicated officer of the ministry and as an exceptionally gifted human being.

The Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry addressing the condolence meeting remembered the departed soul as a dear colleague and friend. He acknowledged her contribution to the Foreign Office in various capacities.

The officers of the Foreign Ministry adopted a resolution conveying condolences to the bereaved members of the family of ambassador Seema Naqvi.

Former foreign minister and former foreign secretary Inam Ul Haq who is the husband of the late ambassador Seema Naqvi expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for arranging the condolence meeting. He recalled the late ambassador as an avid writer and a generous philanthropist.

Ambassador Seema Naqvi joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1980. During her 34 years long career, she held many important assignments.

She served as Pakistan's Ambassador to Egypt and Additional Foreign Secretary for Middle East and Africa.

Earlier, she worked at the headquarters as Director General (Policy Planning), Director Foreign Service Academy and Project Director Sheikh Zaid International School.

She will be remembered by her colleagues as a committed and upright officer.
