Sindh High Court KARACHI: The civil society has filed two petitions in Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday challenging the restoration of the Commissionerate System in place of the Local Government Ordinance 2001.

The petitions filed by Ajmal Dehlvi, Barrister Habib-ur-Rehman and others have made the provincial and the federal government as party in the case.
The petitions said that the Commissionerate System will mostly affect the urban areas of the province.

Replacing the Local Government Ordinance 2001 with the old Commissionerate System will effectively end the government's contact with the public.
