Shipping activity at Port Qasim

imageKARACHI: Three ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, M.T Atlantic Glory and M.T Ashahda carrying containers chemicals and furnace oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and at FOTCO Oil Terminal Port Qasim on Monday.

Meanwhile three more ships with iron ore, furnace oil and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at thirty six percent on Monday where five ships namely C.V Safmarine Ngami, M.Y Veruda, M.V Amazonit, M.T Atlantic Glory and M.T Ashahda are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A record cargo handling was achieved at the port where a volume of throughput during last 24 hours stood at 54,695 tonnes, comprises 28,695 tonnes imports and 25,702 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,605 containers (TEUs) cargo volume of (1,273 imports and 332 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port.

Chemicals carrier Atlantic Glory sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.

Five ships C.V Sealand Washington, C.V Asir, M.V Mukaranas, M.T Au Taurus and M.T Kasugta carrying Containers, Iron ore, Palm oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, IOCB, LCT and EVTL respectively on Tuesday.
