KARACHI: Four ships C.V CMA CGM Straus, C.V Hansa Africa, M.T Golden Gate Park and M.T Feng Hai-32 carrying containers, chemicals and palm oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
Meanwhile four more ship with containers, steel product, diesel oil and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at twenty fifty percent on Wednesday where seven ships namely C.V CMA CGM Straus, C.V CMA CGM Moliere, C.V Hansa Africa, M.V Ikan Sembak, M.V Star Masaya, M.T Golden Gate Park and M.T Feng Hai-32 were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, steel coil, chemicals furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 84,241 tonnes, comprises 46,124 tonnes imports and 38,117 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,432 containers (TEUs) (1,798 imports and 1,634 exports TEUs) were handled at the port.
Container vessels 'CMA CGM Straus' and 'Hansa Africa' sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
Four ships C.V Hugo Schulte, M.T Ashada, M.V Salta, M.V Aelion Heritage carrying containers, steel product, furnace oil, diesel oil and canola seeds are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO, MW-2 and FAP respectively on to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and another containers ship 'MSC Didem' is due to arrive on Thursday.
