ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shehzadi Umar Zadi on Wednesday informed the National Assembly that OGRA's enforcement department conducts surprise visits to inspect the quality of CNG stations.
Replaying to a question, she said that quality of petroleum products is being monitored throughout the supply chain by Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) i.e. federal government approved laboratory, as per applicable standards(specifications) notified by the MP&NR.
Replaying to another question, she said that constitutionally, coal is a provincial subject, federal government is mandated with geological surveys, national policy/plan formulation and coordination at national and international levels in mineral sector.
She said coal is accorded strategic importance for its potential to meet the growing domestic energy demand on long term sustainable basis.
