According to American media reports Grammy-nominated singer Robin Thicke and his actress wife of nine years Paula Patton are calling it quits.
The couple, who has been married since 2005, said in a joint statement that even though they have decided to separate they will still remain good friends.
"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," they told to People magazine.
Thicke, who was propelled to instant fame after his song ‘Blurred Lines’, has lately been in the news for all the wrong reasons.
After Thicke’s highly-controversial performance with Miley Cyrus at the 2013 Video Music Awards, a scandalous photograph emerged which showed the singer posing with 20-year-old fan Lana Scolaro with his hand on her backside.
He also raised eyebrows last month when he was spotted dancing close with a mystery woman in Paris at Club 79.
Though the cause of the split is still unknown, it is being said Thicke’s behaviour may be the reason.
Patton, who has starred in the films ‘Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol’, ‘Mirrors’, ‘Hitch’, ‘Deja Vu’ and ‘Precious', was last seen with her husband at the Grammys on Janyary 26th.
They have three-year-old son Julian Fuego, who was born in April 2010.
