ISLAMABAD: Renowned analyst Maqbool Elahi Malik has said that Sino-Pak relations are of great strategic significance.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that China has helped Pakistan in every difficult situation but we have to make the relation more consolidated now.
Maqbool said that the biggest problem of Pakistan is energy shortage nowadays which cause unemployment and less foreign investment.
He said that council of common interests focuses on the energy sector and several MOUs have been signed in this connection.
He added that after the MOUs, China is willing to invest in Pakistan and both countries are working towards consolidation of their mutual ties.
Senior economist Saboor Ghayyur also said that government was focusing on the revival of economy and put it in the direction of higher growth rate.
He said that measures to overcome energy shortage and investment from China have been given top priority as energy and foreign investment plays a vital role in the development of an economy.
Ghayyur said that they have set areas in which investment is needed and China has shown willingness as well.
