French 2013 nuclear power output lower on milder weather

Published Updated

imagePARIS: EDF's nuclear power production in France fell slightly below its target of 405-410 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2013 after a milder than average December, EDF's website showed on Tuesday.

Nuclear power output at EDF's 58 atomic power reactors fell 0.3 percent last year against the previous year to 403.7 TWh.

Electricity production was broadly stable when 2012's extra day was taken into account.

The state-controlled group revised its 2013 nuclear output target to 405-410 TWh in November, down from 410-415 previously, due to longer than expected planned outages.

EDF's nuclear production in Britain rose by 0.8 percent over the same period to 60.5 TWh.
