ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) contributes 53 percent of oil and 29 percent of natural gas out of total Pakistan's oil and gas production, a document said.
According to a OGDCL document, Company has drilled a total of 671 wells Exploratory, Appraisal 323 and Development wells 348. The company has made 97 oil and gas discoveries in the country.
Talking to APP, on Monday an official of OGDCL said company is striving hard to meet ever growing domestic demand of hydrocarbons and pursing an aggressive production enhancement strategy. During the last five years (2008-2013) OGDCL drilled 118 wells and made 15 discoveries.
OGDCL is constantly endeavouring not only to maintain production level by arresting natural decline but also expediting connectivity of the new exploratory and development wells in the system to overcome energy crisis in the country, he said.
He said OGDCL has attained the bench mark position as an industry leader and OGDCL was the largest exploration and production company in the country.
The official further said that OGDCL was listed on all three stock Exchanges of Pakistan as well as on the London Stock Exchange.
