KARACHI: Four ships carrying containers, project cargo and chemical were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal of Port Qasim on Thursday.
Meanwhile, five more ships carrying containers, chemical and general cargo also arrived at outer anchorage of the Port during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 85 percent at the Port on Friday where a total nine ships namely Kerstins, CGM Eiffel, Aoyama, Ikan Salmon, Eilens Borg, Inlaco Brave, Panagia Stenion, Chem Bulk Barclona and M.T Ginga Oceiot are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, wheat, rape seed, chemical and edible oil respectively during the period.
A cargo volume of 77591 tonnes comprising 52542 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1600 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the period.
