TAIPEI: Taiwan stocks rose on Monday joining their regional peers, with panel makers among the biggest winners, after a report that the Chinese government and corporate delegations arrived in Taiwan on Sunday to procure components including panels.
The main TAIEX index advanced 0.3 percent, or 22.38 points to 7,895.69, at 0207 GMT, after opening up 0.4 percent. Panel makers gained 1.3 percent.
Electronics shares climbed 0.3 percent, while banks rose 0.2 percent.
The Taiwan dollar was up T$0.099 to stand at T$29.954 to the US dollar.
