madonnaKARACHI: After playing round with a mere $700 million for a long time, Golden Globe-winning pop star Madonna has finally hit the billion dollar mark owing to the overwhelming success of her “MDNA” tour.

Following her album MDNA, which secured the no.1 Billboard spot at its debut, the tour has reportedly raked in an eye-watering $305,158,363, making it the highest-paid tour of 2012. That’s not all. She also gained $10 million in TV and DVD rights of her world tour.

Singing is not Madonna’s only channel to rope in the moolah. Other than her Hardcandy Fitness gym and smart investments in big names like coconut-water Vita Coco, she made an additional $60 million from her fragrance collection (especially Truth or Dare perfume) and it looks like she’ll earn millions off her Material Girl clothing line later this year.

The “Die Another Day” star has been making headlines the past few months, what with her outspoken protest of American Boy Scouts’ gay ban at this year's Glaad Awards, where she sported a boy scouts costume as she gave journalist-author Anderson Cooper his Vito Russo Award. Fans claim she (alongwith LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A) did much better at her 2012 Super Bowl performance than Beyonce, who replaced her this year.

Looks like the 54-year-old Queen of Pop is still on top of her game!
