Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Three ships C.V Maersk Wyoming, C.V MSC Sierra-II and Blue Balance carrying containers and canola seeds were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Grain and Fertilizer Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Sunday morning, port sources said Monday.
Another container ship Lahore with furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.
Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 29% on Sunday where four ships namely C.V Maersk Wyoming, C.V MSC Sierra-II, M.V Blue Balance, M.T Bunga Angelica are currently occupying PQA berths to load/ offload containers, canola seeds and palm oil.
A cargo volume of 95,937 tonnes comprising 72,130 tonnes imports and 23,807 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,416 containers (1,263 imports and 1,253 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
Container ship' Maersk Wyoming' is expected to sail on Monday.
M.T Lahore carrying 65,337 tonnes furnace is expected to take berth at FOTCO Oil Terminal on Monday while three more ships C.V Al-Abdali, C.V Nedlloyd Michigan and C.V Sea Land Barentsz with containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
