Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers and general cargo were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal on Sunday, port sources said here Monday.

Three more ships carrying edible oil, LPG Mix and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 75 percent at the Port on Monday where a total of eight ships are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, rice and general cargo respectively.

A cargo volume of 56,754 tonnes comprising 32,012 tonnes imports and 24,742 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2475 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
