KUWAIT: The Kuwaiti media has given extensive coverage to President Asif Ali Zardari's visit to Kuwait, as he arrives here Friday on a two-day visit to attend the country's 50th Independence day celebrations.

The leading local newspapers including `Kuwait Times' and `Arab Times' have published special reports and issued supplements on Pakistan and profile of President Zardari, who is visiting Kuwait on the special invitation of Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The `Kuwait Times' has issued the supplement titled `Kuwait- Pakistan relations' highlighting the fraternal relationship between the two countries that grew stronger over the period of time.

The journal also published photographs of President Zardari and Amir of Kuwait and highlighted that the two countries stood by each other in difficult times.

The `Arab Times' stated that President Zardari's visit to Kuwait will generate tremendous goodwill and enhance bilateral relations in investment, recruitment of labour and joint ventures.

Local national television also flashed news of President Zardari's visit, terming it a gesture of friendship for the Kuwaiti nation that shares common faith, values and traditions with Pakistan. The channels highlighted Pakistan's support extended to Kuwait during Iraqi invasion.

The media mentioned that President Zardari's visit is also an acknowledgement of the enormous moral and financial assistance rendered by Kuwait in the wake of Pakistan's 2005 earthquake and 2010 devastating floods.
