Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that the entire fifth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) would take place in Pakistan.

“Next season of PSL would take place in Pakistan, instead of Dubai,” said Imran Khan, while addressing the inauguration ceremony of online visa issuance on Thursday.

“In Dubai we see empty stadiums, being a cricketer I know how boring it is to play in empty stadiums, so there will be more crowds in Pakistan,” he added. The PM expressed confidence over the current conditions in Pakistan, saying that the country is on a new and peaceful route.

Some eight matches were supposed to be played in Pakistan for the fourth edition of PSL. Lahore was to host three matches, while five matches, including the final of the tournament, was to be played in Karachi. However, the matches were shifted from Lahore to Karachi due to political tensions with India, which led to flight schedule disturbance.
