ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Water and Power on Monday expressed concerns over unscheduled load-shedding in the country and directed the ministry of Water and Power to formulate a uniform policy of load-shedding for all provinces.
The meeting of the committee held here at Parliament House. The meeting presided by its chairman MNA Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah. Members of the Committee MNA Nawab Muhammad Yusaf Talpur, MNA Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur, MNA Sajjad-ul-Hassan, MNA Rana Afzaal Hussain, MNA Salahuddin, MNA Syed Tayyab Hussain were attended the meeting.
The chairman of the committee directed MD PEPCO to present a report on the suggestion given by Sajadul Hassan MNA, for creation a new Power Company in Okara in next meeting.
The committee constituted a sub-committee on the issues of non payment of bills by the WASA Hyderabad, Sindh.
The committee directed the ministry of Water and Power to make a uniform transfer policy for Engineers of the different Power Companies after getting NOCs from the both Companies and it should be transparent.
Earlier, Secretary Ministry of Water and Power informed the committee that the ministry will formulate uniform policy of the posting and transfers of the Engineers of the different power companies.
The chairman Alternative Energy Board has given a detailed briefing to the Committee over the Alternative Energies Projects.
The committee appreciated the performance of the Alternative Energy Board and directed the Board to enhance the Alternative Energy for the country.
