BANGKOK: Thailand's government approved a 30 billion baht ($974.34 million) budget for rubber intervention and expects to buy more rubber to keep in stocks to prop up prices, a government spokesman said on Tuesday.
"The cabinet approved a plan to spend the money in rubber intervention and the budget would be disbursed lot-by-lot," Sansanee Nakpong, the government's spokeswoman, told reporters.
She said the sum for each phase of disbursement would be 5 billion baht.
