LSE Capital plans entry into smart meter production via subsidiary

LSE Capital Limited announced on Thursday its intention to invest in the production, assembly, and sale of smart metering system technology.

The listed company disclosed in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

The company shared that the investment would be carried through its subsidiary company, LSE Technologies Limited, in conjunction with another joint partner.

Smart metering system technology is a modern way of measuring and managing electricity, gas, or water usage using digital meters and communication technology.

LSE Capital is licensed as a modaraba management company. Besides carrying the license to act as a consultant on the issue for IPOs and corporate finance advisory services.

Last month, the Power Division said that the prices of smart meters for power distribution companies have reduced by up to 40%.

Presiding over a meeting on smart meters, Minister for Power, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, stated that this reduction is expected to generate estimated annual savings of Rs150 billion at the national level.
