ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said on Sunday that the government is trying its level best to burden the people as low as possible and give them some relief after consultation with the leadership of all political parties of the country.
Talking to the media after the Mutahida Qaumi Movement delegation called on Dr. Hafeez Shaikh and Interior Minister Rahman Malik here, he said MQM has been assured of reviewing hike in the petroleum prices.
The MQM delegation was led by Dr. Farooq Sattar, who also flanked ministers and while talking to media said the MQM has asked the federal ministers to review the recent hike in petroleum prices as public is unable to bear this additional burden.
Federal Interior Minister said on the occasion that the people should understand the difficult situation faced by the government.
Both federal ministers said that the government is facing a very difficult situation caused by the high oil prices in the international markets but still it will try to give some relief to the public.
