ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party MNA Asma Arbab Alamgir on Saturday urged all political parties to join hands for the resolution of all important national issues.

She said that present government was making efforts to resolve the people's problems particularly of the common man.

Talking to a news channel, Asma Arbab Alamgir urged all the politicians to focus on meeting the challenges being faced by the nation in the larger interest of the country.

She said it is the responsibility of politicians to ensure socio-economic uplift of the people.

The MNA said that the government is taking solid steps to counter the challenges including terrorism, reconstruction of flood-hit areas and poverty alleviation.

She said "We are utilizing all available resources to steer the country out of crises."

The PPP MNA called upon the stakeholders to play their due role for the speedy progress and prosperity of the country.

Replying to a question, Asma said that the government had done a lot during last three years including reinstatement of sacked employees, empowerment package of Gilgit-Baltistan, NFC Award, devolution of power plan, transfer of ministries to provinces, restoration of peace in Swat and judiciary etc.

She, however, said "it is the duty of all the political parties to work for resolving all important issues."

Asma called for avoiding the blame game against PPP and said there is an urgent need to focus on addressing the challenges being faced by the nation.

She said, PPP believed in the politics of reconciliation and added that “we are following the policies based on reconciliation.”
