President phones Maulana Fazalur Rehman

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari telephoned Maulana Fazalur Rahman and condemned the attack on his convoy on Thursday, the second in as many days.

While expressing grief and sorrow over the loss of innocent lives in the deadly assaults, the President said that he was pleased that Maulana Fazalur Rahman had escaped unhurt.

Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said that the President prayed for those who lost their lives.

The President said that it was his conviction that the perpetrators of the crime will face justice in the fullness of time even if they appeared to have escaped retribution for sometime.

The Spokesperson said that Maulana Fazalur Rahman thanked the President for his concern.
