KARACHI: The 2011 Annual Examinations SSC Part I and II of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) will commence from April 18.
An official of the BSEK said on Wednesday that as many as 350,000 candidates will appear in the examination.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the BSEK, Prof. Anwar Zia, told the staff that they would have to work day and night to finalize the arrangements for these examinations.
It may be pointed out that he assumed the charge of the head of the BSEK on Wednesday. He is also serving as the Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).
Prof. Anwar said that those employee of the BSEK who would be performing the examinations task would be given a month's additional salary.
He asked them to ensure that admit cards are issued to all the candidates before the commencement of the examinations.
As many as 70 percent of the candidates are from the private schools.
Prof. Anwar stated that the exact number of examinations centres should be determined by Friday.
He directed that it be ensured that on a desk there should be a single candidate.
