British official unemployment rate dips to 7.8pc

us-jobless LONDON: Britain's unemployment rate fell slightly to 7.8 percent in the quarter to the end of September compared with 7.9 percent in the three months to the end of August, official data showed on Wednesday.

The number of unemployed people fell to 2.514 million from 2.528 million, the Office for National Statistics added in a statement.
