ISLAMABAD: The Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Imtiaz Ahmad, and other senior officials of the Embassy of Pakistan in Japan on Sunday delivered the relief goods to the concerned authorities for onward distribution among the earthquake-tsunami hit people. The 24 tons relief goods, containing high energy biscuits, milk packs and drinking water bottles were handed over to the Japanese authorities in the worst affected areas of Miyagi and Iwate, a fax message received here said. The relief goods were brought to Tokyo by two PAF C130s cargo aeroplanes on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the DCM said that Japan had always remained at forefront to assist Pakistan in the wake of any natural calamity. In this critical moment in the history of Japan, the people and the Government of Pakistan stand united with their Japanese friends, he added.
It is pertinent to point out that Pakistan was one of the first few countries who rushed support to the people of Japan.
